Our 2025 Summer Internship Program is a 12-week paid internship designed to allow students to gain practical work experience in the technology field on Mercury Technology Solutions and Enterprise Data Science Teams.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Undergraduate (BS/BA) or Graduate (MS/MA) degree program in information technology or relevant field
  • Available to commit to a full-time (40 hours/week) internship for 12 weeks beginning May/June 2025
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA; 3.5 or higher GPA preferred
  • Must be a US citizen or Permanent Resident

Available Internship Opportunities

Application Engineering

  • Software Engineer I: Focuses on development and maintenance of all internal and external facing systems.
  • Software Engineer I – Test: Focuses on development and maintenance of testing tools, frameworks and reusable test script libraries.

Architecture

  • Software Development Analyst Associate: Focuses on the business, data, application, and technology architecture and the interoperability of these different systems while establishing rules, policies and standards across the organization.

Enterprise Data Science

  • Data Science Intern: Focuses on leveraging data analytics and machine learning techniques to extract insights, improve business processes, and solve complex insurance data problems. Works collaboratively with cross-functional teams to analyze large datasets, create predictive models, and develop data-driven solutions that drive impactful decision-making across the organization
  • Data Engineering Intern: Focuses on building, optimizing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines using modern data architectures, tools and technologies to support advanced analytics and business operations.

Information Security

  • IT Security Controls Specialist I: Focuses on protecting and ensuring the confidentiality of integrity and availability of Mercury’s Information assets in alignment with Mercury’s business objectives.

Infrastructure

  • Network Administrator Trainee: Focuses on providing valuable outcomes through appropriate and standardized technology while providing accurate and cost-effective lifecycle support of all IT assets, both software and hardware.

Site Reliability Engineering

  • Site Reliability Engineer: Focuses on development by combining software engineering and systems engineering to build scalable and reliable systems.

Technical Product Management

  • Product Associate: Focuses on application engineering and software engineering teams as well as non-technical teams such as sales and product.

Mercury Ignite Frequently Asked Questions

Am I eligible to apply for a Mercury internship?

If you are an undergraduate or graduate student attending a university program with an expected graduation date on or after August 2024 or planning to seek full-time employment between December 2025 and September 2026, you are eligible to apply.

Will I get paid as an intern?

Yes, all our interns are paid!

Is this a remote opportunity?

Yes, all internships are remote first with the ability to travel to office locations as needed.

What does a complete application look like?

Each job description outlines the minimum requirements for the role. Generally a complete application includes:

  • A resume with visible graduation date (month/year)
  • Undergraduate/Graduate transcripts with GPA

What is the deadline for applications?

Applications must be submitted through our careers site no later than February 28, 2025 for consideration for the Summer 2025 Internship Program.

What does the selection process look like?

Mercury has designed our internship selection process into three (3) steps:

  1. Pre-screen with Talent Acquisition
  2. 1st Interview with a member of our Human Capital Business Partner Group
  3. Final Interview with Business Line Leaders

Following the interview process, if you are selected for the role, you will receive an offer, proposed start date and go through our pre-employment and onboarding process.
